How do I begin?
The best way to begin is by scheduling a complimentary initial consultation. During this conversation, we will learn more about your goals, questions, and current financial situation, and you can decide whether Viridian Wealth Management feels like the right fit.
From there, our process typically follows three steps:
1. Initial Consultation
We discuss your goals, concerns, and the type of support you are looking for.
2. Discovery & Planning
We review your financial picture in more detail, including investments, retirement goals, income needs, insurance, taxes, estate planning considerations, and other relevant areas.
3. Recommendations & Implementation
We present a personalized plan and, if you choose to move forward, help coordinate the next steps, including account setup, transfers, investment management, and ongoing planning support. Typically, we only need a copy of your most recent account statement and your signatures on a few forms. We will take care of setting up your new account and transferring your assets.
What are the fees for Viridian Wealth Management?
We believe fee transparency is an important part of the planning process. Fees are discussed during your complimentary initial consultation, where we will outline the services we recommend and the associated costs based on your individual needs.
Will householding reduce my total advisory fee?
Typically, yes. Householding means linking eligible accounts from members of the same household – such as spouses or family members – for advisory fee billing purposes.
Because our advisory fee schedule is tiered, combining household assets may help your household reach lower fee breakpoints sooner, which can reduce the overall effective advisory fee.
Where is my money kept?
![]() | Viridian Wealth Management does not take custody of client assets. For advisory accounts, we use Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. as the primary custodian. Schwab holds and safeguards client assets, provides account administration, and facilitates transactions. Our relationship with Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. is an arm’s length transaction with no exchange of funds between Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. and us. When your account is established with Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., you provide us with limited trading authorization on your account. This allows us to place trades in your account according to your investment plan, but it does not allow us to withdraw funds for our own use. |
What makes your firm different than traditional financial advisors?
Our independence allows us to put our clients first – always. Without corporate sales pressures, product incentives, or firm-driven quotas, we can provide objective advice that reflects each client’s goals, values, and best interests. We believe that freedom leads to more thoughtful guidance, stronger relationships, and a more personal planning experience.
Are you a fiduciary advisor?
Yes, as a Registered Investment Advisor we adhere to fiduciary standards, meaning we are legally required to put your interests first in all advice and recommendations.
A fiduciary is a financial professional who is legally and ethically required to act in your best interest. That means our advice must be based on what’s most appropriate for your goals and situation – not what benefits us.
At Viridian Wealth Management, being a fiduciary also means we’re transparent about how we’re paid and about any potential conflicts. If we ever recommend something like life insurance or another financial product, we’ll clearly explain why it fits your plan, what it costs, and how any compensation works so you can make an informed decision with confidence.
What is a CFP?
| A CFP® is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional – someone who has completed rigorous education and training in financial planning, passed a comprehensive exam, met required experience standards, and commits to ongoing continuing education and ethical requirements. In practice, working with a CFP® means you’re getting guidance that’s built around your full financial picture – like cash flow, investing, retirement, taxes, insurance, and estate planning – not just one piece of the puzzle. Viridian Wealth Management was founded by Anita Niefeldt, CFP®, so you can expect planning-first advice that’s structured, personalized, and designed to help you make confident decisions. |
